Improve writing reading skills in English through social media, especially on twitter.

    

Language in daily life plays an important role especially in the expression of one's thoughts. The concepts, thoughts and dreams of a person are expressed through good language, oral and written.

     Language has a very important role in development intellectual, social, and emotional students and are supportive success in studying all fields of study.

    Reading and writing as one aspect of language skills are taught in schools with the aim that students can understand the intent contained in the reading so that they can understand the contents of the reading properly and correctly.

     According to St. Y. Slamet (2008: 57) that Reading and Writing Beginning are two aspects of language ability that are interrelated and inseparable. When the teacher introduces writing, of course the children will read the writing. Writing as one aspect of language skills must be mastered by students. This is in line with what was stated by Djago Tarigan and Henry Guntur Tarigan (1997: 20) that teaching Beginning Reading and Writing with the aim of introducing how to read and write with certain techniques until the child is able to express ideas in written form, with in other words a simple sentence.

 

    Here I share my experience and one of my tips in improving reading and writing skills in English, namely by using social media, especially Twitter.

    Social media is a media based on technological sophistication classified from various forms, such as magazines, internet forums, weblogs, social blogs, microblogging, wikis, Siniar, photos or images, videos, social rankings and bookmarks. By applying a set of theories in the field of research media (social presence, wealth media) and social processes (self-presentation, self-disclosure), Kaplan and Haenlein created schemes or classifications for various types of social media (delivered in Business Horizons articles published throughout the year 2010).

    Because of the widespread use of social media in everyday life which can take a lot of time in its use due to addiction to social media so that many users are negligent and neglect their learning time.

 

Therefore I took the initiative to make my habits in social media can make me as well as in improving my learning, especially in reading and writing skills.

in using twittet, we can communicate and interact virtually with many users from various countries, which requires us to know how to communicate internationally so we need international language skills which in this case is English.

 

Improve English language skills, we can use social media like Twitter by having a conversation by writing what we want to convey to the citizens of the world Twitter using English, by doing this over and over again we indirectly train ourselves to be more fluent in writing using English in a way that interests us and our hobbies. That is because by making a tweet in English, we are increasingly trained to write English well according to grammar rules and also can indirecly add to our vocabulary, that's because every time we don't understand, we will defiitely open a dictionary so automatically every time you have a new vocab. I think this is fun, right?

to more the better, the more English you have the better.

 Likewise in improving reading skills, where in Twitter there are many tweets that use English in its delivery we can train ourselves in reading which indirectly can improve our ability to read.

because in mastering a language, we need to practice routinely and get used to using it in our daily lives. So, by combining our social media habits, especially Twitter, which can take up so much time because it is our pleasure and our target in language learning, we indirectly increase our ability to read and write using international languages.
